All prices for farming goods are dynamic and are calculated globally across the different servers. That means the price for iron bars on server 1 is the same as on server 2.
The price calculation is a complex process and depends on the number of items sold as well as synergy effects between the different goods.
For example: You sell a lot of iron -> the iron price drops -> another price goes up.
The current prices of legal goods can be checked via the Market-App on the smartphone or via the User-Panel. Prices of illegal goods can only be seen if the Black-Market-App is installed.
Market events
On top of the normal supply-and-demand pricing, random market events temporarily boost the prices of certain goods. When an event is running, the affected goods sell for noticeably more, so it pays off to keep an eye out and sell the right goods at the right time.
How market events work:
- One at a time: Only a single market event is ever active. Two events never run at the same time, and an event will never push goods that another active event already covers.
- Timing: On a well-populated server a new event starts roughly every few hours. Each event runs for at least one hour, some longer, so you have plenty of time to react.
- The bonus: While an event is active, the price of its goods goes up (roughly +10% to +50%, depending on the event). The boost applies to both buying and selling, so selling during an event earns you extra money.
- Illegal goods: Events for illegal goods (such as drugs) give a smaller bonus on purpose, because dealing those goods is already very profitable on its own.
- Announcements: The start and end of every event is announced in-game, so you always know when a boost begins or runs out.
Spotting boosted goods
Goods that are currently affected by an active event are marked with a flame icon so you can spot them at a glance. You will see this highlight on the item tiles at a trader (sell tab) as well as in the Market-App and Black-Market-App on the smartphone. The apps additionally show the exact bonus and the remaining time for the boosted good.
Example events
There is a wide variety of events covering nearly every tradeable good. A few examples:
| Event | Boosted goods |
|---|---|
| Metal boom | Copper & iron bars |
| Precious metals rush | Silver & gold bars |
| Wood boom | Planks, firewood & charcoal |
| Fuel crisis | Petrol canisters |
| Honey season | Blue & red honey |
| Electronics demand | Copper, silver & glass |
| Blacksmith orders | Iron, copper & charcoal |
| Cold snap | Firewood, charcoal & petrol |
| Luxury gala | Gold, silver & red honey |
| Glassworks boom | Glass, charcoal & polyester |
| Drug demand | Various illegal goods |
