Prison break
Prison Break
The Prison Break is a gang event in which a gang frees its imprisoned members from the state prison. A free gang member triggers the breakout. From that moment it becomes a race between gang and police: the gang wants to get its members to a secret extraction point, the police want them back behind bars.
Normal Server-Rules still apply during all phases of the event!
Requirements
A breakout can only be started when all of the following are true:
- You are a civilian and a member of a gang.
- At least one jailed gang member still has at least 25 minutes of remaining sentence.
- Enough police are on duty.
- The event is not currently on cooldown (see below).
If a requirement is not met, the contact tells you what is missing.
How it works
Start
Talk to the contact inside the prison and start the breakout. This instantly turns all eligible jailed members of your gang into escapees.
Phase 1 – Preparation (2.5 minutes)
- The police are alerted by phone dispatch, including the names of the escapees.
- The prison is still a safe zone. Use this time to get into position.
Phase 2 – The breakout (10 minutes)
- The prison safe zone is lifted for the escapees and their gang, they can now be hurt and can fight back. Uninvolved inmates stay protected.
- The escapees and their gang receive a marker and waypoint to a randomly chosen extraction point on the map.
- Entering helicopters is blocked
For the escapees
- Get to the extraction point. A smuggler is waiting there.
- Use their action to escape for good.
- Escaping is only possible 5 minutes after Phase 2 begins, if you arrive earlier, you have to wait.
- If you don't reach the smuggler in time, it's back to prison.
For the police
- You do not win by killing the fleeing prisoner you win by restraining an escapee and returning them to prison.
- You only learn the exact extraction point after 5 minutes so the escapees get a head start.
- In return, you see each escapee's current position on the map every 30 seconds.
- Every escapee returned to prison pays all on-duty officers a bonus (ten times the normal paycheck).
What happens to the prisoners?
Each escapee is handled individually — the event continues for the others:
| Outcome | Result |
|---|---|
| Escaped | Free, remaining sentence cleared. |
| Returned | 1 hour in prison and barred from future breakouts until your prison sentence is over. |
| Killed | Respawns in prison with the original remaining sentence. |
| Out of time | Back to prison with the original remaining sentence. |
Once the timer runs out or all escapees have been handled, everyone involved gets a summary of the outcome.
Cooldown
After each event (whether it succeeds or fails), no new prison break is possible for 1.5 hours.
