There are several laws in effect on the islands. Below, you will find information on each law that has been passed and approved by the Government of Elan.

It is important to note that these laws are authorized by the Government of Elan. Police officers, regardless of rank, are not able to alter the fine amounts or prison sentence durations. These are automatically calculated by the government and Prison Custody officers.

The smartphone is a helpful tool to access many useful things, such as market prices or getting in touch with the police.

Many of the suggestions we receive include requests for more weapons, clothing or general assets in all shapes and forms. Unfortunately, however, the past has shown that dependence on external people has negative aspects for us as developers and also for you as players. Here are a few examples:

* Arma Reforger is a title, which is being actively expanded by the developers. Even with active development, there are often bugs at one point or another that need to be closely monitored in order to understand how they affect our systems/are caused by our systems. The addition of dependencies increases the number of potential sources of errors.
* Many mods have to be adapted with every Arma update. As we don't have access to external mods, we would have to rely on the work of external developers. This can lead to longer downtimes.
* The interaction of different mods can lead to major outages that are difficult to track.
* Since external mods are not ours (who would have thought? :P), mods can be removed from the workshop at any time and we/you would lose your items. We would therefore have to put in a lot of support effort to compensate for damage that comes from sources beyond our control.

The aim of this page is to explain to you why we only use our in-house mods and try to avoid mods by external creator.

Many of the suggestions we receive include requests for more weapons, clothing or general assets in all shapes and forms. We can understand the enthusiasm for these things from a player's point of view and understand that these are the things that are directly used by you and therefore have a high impact on the fun of the game. Unfortunately, however, the past has shown that dependence on external people has negative aspects for us as developers and also for you as players. Here are a few examples:

* Arma Reforger title, which is being actively expanded by the developers. Even with active development, there are often bugs at one point or another that need to be closely monitored in order to understand how they affect our systems/are caused by our systems. The addition of dependencies increases the number of potential sources of errors.
* Many mods have to be adapted with every Arma update. As we don't have access to external mods. We would have to rely on the work of external developers. This can lead to longer downtimes.
* The interaction of different mods can lead to major outages that are difficult to track.
* Since external mods are not ours (who would have thought? :P), mods can be removed from the workshop at any time and we/you would lose your items. We would therefore have to put in a lot of support effort to compensate for damage that comes from sources beyond our control.
* External mods can also pose a security risk to our systems.

===Will the savegames be wiped some day?===
No, everything is persistent and will not be reset. We already found this to be a good way in Arma 3 and will keep it here!

===The mod download stucks at 0%. What can i do?===
First of all you should try to delete the modfiles and start the download again. If that isnt helping, try to restart your game/xbox - after the restart delete all modfiles and try to download them again.

===The game crashes everytime when i join the server. What can i do?===
This could be a problem with Battleeye. If you are running Arma from a HDD, copy the game to a SSD.

===[Xbox] My game crashes during the loading process. What can i do?===
When your game crashes during the loading process, try to delete our modfiles and download them directly through the workshop one by one.

===I cant interact with the NPCs or can't move at all===
This will be fixed in a lot of times with a simple game or xbox restart.

===Where can i find the mod specific keys and change the bindings?===
Go to the Menu -> Controls -> Team-ELAN

===[Xbox] My push to talk is not working. I can hear players, but they can’t hear me.===
You need to clear your alternate MAC address in your xbox settings.

Ever since the great war the island of Everon has been in turmoil, with gangs and angry citizens armed with all sorts of deadly weapons.

While a few weapons are legally available to all citizens, others are considered illegal or are only available to the [[Police]].

Regardless, many citizens choose to carry at least a sidearm to defend themselves from would-be robbers and criminals.

== Acquiring Weapons ==

Many weapons, ammo, and attachments can be purchased from [[Shops]]. The Weapon Shop in Morton carries legal firearms, while the Outpost sells illegal weapons. If your group is in control of Smuggler's Village, you can also access a shop there to buy weapons and smoke grenades. Some weapons and attachments can only be acquired through [[Crafting]].

Rare weapons can also be found at in the supply crate at [[Airdrop Event|Airdrop]] events, while others can be purchased at the Event Store in Montignac. These can include gold-plated, custom painted and textured variants!

You should always check the [[Laws]] to see which weapons are legal to own. If a Police officer catches you with an illegal weapon, they will confiscate it and fine you! '''NOTE - Police-faction weapons cannot be picked up by civilians!'''

== Durability ==
All weapons have a durability that decreases with each fired bullet. Weapons with less than 25% durability cannot be sold on the [[Auction house|Auction]] House. When the durability reaches 0%, the weapon cannot be fired until it is repaired.

Having a lower [[Reputation]] will result in faster durability decrease. At the lowest values, the weapon may break after just a few shots!

[[Professions|Blacksmiths]] can repair weapons at the [[Processor|Forge]] once they have reached level 10, as long as they have the profession active.

A weapon can only be repaired twice, and it will cost some money each time Crafted weapons are cheaper to repair than store-bought ones! Repairing the weapon resets the durability to the new maximum based on how many times it has been repaired.

So you skipped the tutorial, spent all your money, didn’t own a vehicle, then died and lost everything you were carrying. You don’t want to beg for money, so here’s what you can do

# Select Montignac as your spawn location.
# Every time you die, you respawn wearing pants with a map in them.
# Walk east from the market, past the church, across the street to the hotel
# In the backyard of the hotel there is an Apple tree.
# Gather five apples from the tree (takes about a minute)
# Walk back down to the market to the Apple Trader and sell all five apples for $650
# Do this two more times, then buy a shirt. Now you can hold ten apples!
# Go back and gather 10 apples this time, then sell them all to the trader
# Do this a few more times and buy a backpack. Now you can hold a lot more apples!

In less than 30 minutes you will have enough to buy everything listed in the first section and get to work!

== UAZ-452 Off-Road ($100,000) ==

Your first new vehicle after the starter jeep should be the van. With more than double the cargo space and a similar driving profile, you’ll make your first million in no time!

To reach this goal, you’ll be doing the fastest resource loop available - Copper!

# Head north from Montignac to the Copper Mine
# Gather 26 copper ore (13 in your jeep, 13 in your backpack)
# Once you’re full, head south to Copper Processing in Gravette
# Talk to the Smelter and turn the ore into 26 Copper Ingots
# Take the ingots up to the Metal Trader in Tyrone and sell them all
#* Copper usually goes for at least $2,000
#* Even if it’s below that, the loop is short enough to still be worth it.
#* You should usually make at least $45k per run.

When you’re just starting, this loop will take about 12-15 minutes. As you gain mining and smelting levels and learn the route better, this can go as fast as 8-10 minutes!

Do this loop 2 or 3 times and you’ll have enough to buy the van from any Car Shop!

== What if I get robbed? ==

Unfortunately, it’s not a matter of if you get robbed, but when. It’s very likely that you will get robbed at some point, possibly even in your first few hours on the island! However, this doesn’t need to ruin your experience.

Robbers can only demand you give up what you’re carrying; they cannot force you to withdraw money from your bank or demand that you unlock your vehicle. If you don’t wear vests, helmets, or guns on your shoulder, then you don’t have much to lose, and most robbers will move on without much hassle. Plus, only the Ural trucks can be lock picked, so your items will be safe in the trunk of your other vehicles.

When you get robbed you have three basic choices:

If you hate the idea of complying (even for the sake of profit) you’ll want to find a group to farm with. There’s strength in numbers, but groups often expect you to fight for them as well.

Ultimately, your main goal in a robbery should be to survive and get back to work! Just remember that killing people, even in self-defense, will negatively affect your reputation and thus reduce your discounts and sell value on trade goods.

== Workshop Upgrades ==

At most gas stations you can find a [[Vehicle tuning|Workshop]] that offers several upgrades to improve your vehicle's performance and add some convenience. You also need to keep your vehicle’s inspection current, which is another service provided at these Workshops.

For your starter jeep and van you can ignore upgrades on these until later. However, your first truck will greatly benefit from a few of them:

* Chip Tuning 1 ($100,000) - Increases power and torque by 10%
* Chip Tuning 2 ($250,000) - Increases power and torque by an additional 10%
* Auto Lock ($80,000) - Automatically locks the vehicle after 10 seconds

The extra torque helps a lot, especially when going uphill in the American truck. The Auto Lock helps keep your vehicle secure if you forget to lock it. The remaining upgrades are still useful, but not quite worth the price when you’re first starting out.

* Chip Tuning 3 ($750,000) - Another 10% boost, but is considered illegal
* Airbag ($375,000) - Drastically reduces chance of fatal damage in accidents
* False Bottom ($450,000) - Reduces the chance of illegal items being found when searched by police.

The last chip tuning upgrade is good, but very expensive and can get your vehicle impounded if it’s discovered by police. The airbag is also useful, as accidents will happen no matter how well you drive. Finally, the false bottom is really only useful if you’re running drugs.

It costs $15,000 to do an inspection which is good for another 500km. Police may impound your vehicle if your inspection is overdue, so keep it current!

== Ural-4320 Fuel Truck ($2,800,000) ==

Once you’ve done a good bit of work with your American Transport truck, it’s time to upgrade to a Ural Fuel Truck. The Fuel trucks are unique in that they’re the only vehicles that can hold unrefined Oil; however, they can still hold any other items as well!

We’re going to skip the American Fuel truck and American Canopy Truck for now, since the Ural Fuel truck is already quite a chunk of cash. You are free to buy them if you wish, but I generally recommend saving up for the Ural Fuel Truck.

To reach this goal, there's a few more options now.
